5 People Born Again over an unforgettable weekend! Read what God did!
This week the incomparable Gina Cross Cooper from New Road, filled in on the high part, and what a blessing she was! Thank you to Stacy L. Cooper for all your help and encouragement as well!
After a wonderful time of worship and ministry Friday night in Simpsonville, South Carolina… around 6:00 am Saturday morning, we received the news that the patriarch of the Shelby family, Reverend Wiley Shelby, at over 100 years of age, had stepped into the arms of Jesus.
We prayed about cancelling the remaining dates and heading home, but we knew Papaw’s heart was a heart for the Gospel… as he would tell us every week before we left, “You’ve got a job to do!” So we pressed on!
Around 15 miles from the church that night, the transmission in our bus locked up, and it wouldn’t go into gear. We had to have it towed a mile and a half, at a cost of $2,500, to our dear friend Murrell Galloway’s auction house, who not only graciously let us leave it there, but also took up a special offering that night to help with the expenses of the tow bill.
Once again, we wondered if we would make it to that evening’s service at Refuge Baptist Church in Pendleton. But God had already made a way. When the bus arrived at Galloway’s auction, the people from Refuge were ready to help us with Sprinter vans, vehicles, and trailers so we could get our equipment to the church and minister that night. We arrived an hour and a half late to load in and by the grace of God, only started the service 10 mins late! 🙌
Throughout the entire weekend, God had providentially placed our team member, Calynn Anthony Altizer, there with her Sprinter. That van would not only carry us to the next services… but would carry us all the way home to Knoxville. Oh what a literal Godsend she is! 💜
Another thank you to Brother David Irby, who lent us a trailer to carry our equipment to both Sunday services and back to Knoxville.
By the end of our fourth service, five people had been born again! 5 people saved! In the midst of grief, an unexpected breakdown, and a long road home, God was faithful! Praise The Lamb!
Thank you to everyone who served, helped, prayed, and had a hand in continuing and furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What a privilege it is to serve with you! To God be all the glory! Whatever you’re facing, friends…. Don’t give up… look up! Your redemption draweth nigh! Remember weary Christian… “You’ve got a job to do!” God will be your strength… and great is His Faithfulness! 🙌
